Seek God First ~Matthew 6:33
Life gets busy, making it difficult to manage priorities each day. Do you find yourself caught up in the crazy schedule of carpools, soccer games, homework, and the other responsibilities of being a parent? Or, maybe you are overwhelmed from the long work days and endless household tasks that need to be completed on the weekends.
It can feel exhausting to hold your head high and focus on the right things throughout the week. Many people have the urge to hide away behind a TV screen or video game, because they are too tired to do anything else at the end of the day. If your schedule is overloaded, then it is possible that you are missing your opportunity to connect with God because you are distracted by everything that is going on in your life.
Make it a priority to spend time with God each day. No matter how busy your schedule is, you can always find a spare 5 or 10 minutes to have a sincere prayer, read uplifting scriptures, and ask God for the assistance that you need in your life.
In fact, scheduling this time into your routine is essential to help you stay focus on the things that matter the most. In the book of Matthew, we are told that we need to seek God FIRST. Don’t let other priorities get in the way of the time that you need to connect with God. These things are distractions that are holding you back from your full potential.
Try this experiment: wake up 10 minutes earlier to ensure that you have time for scripture study and prayer every morning. Follow this routine for a week, and see how you feel at the end of the week. When you put God first in your life, everything else will fall into place. You will feel a deeper send of peace and calmness in your life, making it easier to manage all of the other responsibilities that you are juggling throughout the day.
