What does it mean to “put on the whole armor of God?” Most Christians are familiar with this phrase, but I wonder if we truly understand what it means. How do I live my life in a way that I am wearing the armor of God?
As I have pondered and prayed on this topic, a few thoughts have come to mind:
Putting on the armor of God means that I am living my life in a way that allows me to draw nearer to Him. I am practicing the daily habits which will strengthen my faith: prayer, scripture study, charity, and love. I am focusing more on what God thinks of me, instead of worrying about what the world thinks of me.
All of these steps help me to strengthen my courage and resolve. They make me a stronger person, so that I can withstand the difficulties and temptations that I face on a daily basis. I am grateful for God’s love, and the goodness that He shares in my life.
Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
